Dr Tan Weiqiang, Associate Professor at SSC and the Programme Leader of the Master of Arts in Personal Finance Education, chaired the Conference Organisation Committee and was a guest editor for this conference’s Special Issue. During the one-day conference, 18 scholars from Australia, mainland China, Macau and New Zealand presented and discussed their research outcomes on issues regarding accounting, auditing, financial instruments, ESG and finance education in the context of the ever-changing circumstances around China.

Welcoming both the scholars and the audience, President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung addressed the University’s roles as a regional leader in teacher education and its “Education-plus” approach the University’s development initiative. The MAPFE Programme aims to cultivate professional educators in personal finance and financial literacy who are eligible to transfer financial knowledge into different sectors for the community.

The conference ended with the Award Presentation session. Professor Peter Cheung Tsan-yin, Head of SSC, announced the “Best Discussant” Awards. Professor Li Wai-keung, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, delivered the closing remarks and announced the “Best Paper” Award.
